CMI Sevagram, Vettimukal, the training centre for the mentally retarded and the physically handicapped, is situated in the Ettumanoor-Pala Highway, about 400 meters away from the Vettimukal Junction. At the initiative of Fr Jacob Thanniyil, a plot of land and a house was bought for the centre and it was blessed on November 27, 1990. The Sevagram Special School campus at Vettimukal has now the residential facilities for over sixty inmates, a well-furnished school, separate boarding houses for boys and girls, chapel, dining hall, staff quarters, workshop and a spacious playground.
