The Mary Matha College, formerly named as Jayaraj Chelladurai College (JC College) was started in the year 1994 by a Philanthropist namely, Mr Jayaraj Chelladurai to cater the dire need of the people of the nearby villages for college education. CMI St Joseph Province Kottayam purchased the college in 2009. In the early days the members stayed in the Theni School campus and ran the college. Later in June 17, 2009 they moved to the college campus. The residence is given the name CMI Anpakam, meaning ‘House of love.’ It was raised to the status of a House on April 4, 2021.
