CMI Provincial House is situated in Kottayam town, close to the Deepika Daily Office near Baker Junction. When the Province of St Joseph was established on March 2, 1953 and was formally inaugurated on April 23, 1953, the Provincial Curia was temporarily lodged at St Joseph’s Monastery, Mannanam. Following the Provincial council decision to build the Provincial House at Kottayam, adjacent to the Deepika Daily, the foundation stone was laid by Bishop Bonaventure, the Apostolic Visitor, on March 7, 1955. The construction was completed within a year and the building was blessed on March 19, 1956. On May 1, 1956 the Provincial Curia was shifted to the newly built Provincial House. Later in 1968, when the Provincial Curia was shifted to St Antony’s Monastery, Puthuppally, the house at Kottayam became a residence of our brethren working in Deepika Daily. When the ownership of Deepika was transferred to the Rashtra Deepika Ltd Company in 1990, the Provincial Synaxis of that year resolved to shift Provincial Curia back to Kottayam. Thus, after a period of 22 years, on June 25, 1990, St Joseph's CMI Bhavan, Deepika, Kottayam was declared the Provincial House of St Joseph Province, Kottayam. The administrative block of the Provincial House was completed and blessed in 1996.

The property for St Thomas centre, Sastri Road was purchased on April 25, 1970 and in 1984, Darsana Cultural Centre, a landmark in the history of CMI presence in the city, was started. In 1977 the Deepika Book House was shifted from the campus of Deepika Daily to this new building. In the following year Arpana Service Society, Anaswara Printers & Training Centre and Akshara Type Foundry were started. Darsana Academy which evolved as an offshoot of Darsana Cultural centre in 1994 and had its magnificent campus at Nagampadom inaugurated in 2015, is widely known and acknowledged as an iconic centre of academic excellence in the field of Medical / Engineering entrance coaching in Central Kerala.  Following the great legacy of CMI Congregation in the pioneering works for the poor and marginalized, the Province initiated a unique institution, namely Vikas Vidyalaya which started functioning as a day-care centre for the differently abled children and youth at St Thomas Centre on the Sastri Road, Kottayam, on June 2, 1985. After a year, it was shifted to a newly acquired building at Chelliyozhukkam in the town. The dedicated and uninterrupted service of Fr Mathew Walter Madathummuriyil and his team in the Centre for almost three decades are commendable. In the field of media ministry, a sound studio and shooting floor named 'D Media' in Kottayam was inaugurated on February 18, 2023.
