Fr Geo Kappalumackal (1932-2009), a priest from the diocese of Pala established the Georgean Counselling Centre at Chethimattam, Pala in 1982 for guiding people to wholeness and health. He had developed a unique method of treating the patients suffering from split personalities which are often misinterpreted as possession of the evil spirits. This psycho-spiritual visionary, through the timely intervention of his cousin, Fr Mathew Chandrankunnel, entrusted his Centre to St Joseph Province, Kottayam on February 9, 2009, on the condition that the healing ministry that he initiated shall be continued in and through the centre. The centre has been re-named as Geothir Bhavan-Georgean CMI Centre for Counselling, Training and Transformation. At present, academic activities are taking place in collaboration with Darsana Cultural Centre, Kottayam.
